Cardiology services

From your first consultation to advanced diagnostics and long-term treatment, Hartwell Health brings the full range of cardiovascular care together in one Cambridge office. Below is an overview of what we offer — and the providers who lead each area of care.

What we do

Interventional cardiology

We evaluate and manage coronary artery disease — from chest pain and abnormal stress tests to long-term care after a cardiac event. When a catheter-based procedure is needed, your cardiologist coordinates it for you.

Catheter-based procedures such as coronary angiography, angioplasty, and stenting, along with structural-heart care, are performed and coordinated at partner hospitals, with follow-up and ongoing management handled here at Hartwell Health. Our interventional care is led by Dr. Raymond Okafor, our Medical Director.

What we do

Non-invasive cardiology

Much of heart care happens through careful evaluation and steady, ongoing management — no procedure required. Our non-invasive cardiology service is your home base for consultations, second opinions, prevention, and the day-to-day care that keeps your heart healthy.

We focus on the long-term management of blood pressure, cholesterol, and overall cardiovascular risk, working closely with your primary-care team. This service is led by Dr. Priya Nair.

What we do

Electrophysiology & heart rhythm

When your heartbeat is too fast, too slow, or irregular, our electrophysiology service helps find out why and what to do about it. We diagnose and manage arrhythmias — including atrial fibrillation, palpitations, and syncope (fainting).

Care includes pacemaker and ICD device checks, medication management, and referral coordination for ablation procedures when appropriate. Our heart-rhythm care is led by Dr. Daniel Schwartz, our cardiac electrophysiologist.

Areas of focus

Rhythm & device care

  • Atrial fibrillation & other arrhythmias
  • Palpitations & syncope evaluation
  • Pacemaker & ICD device checks
  • Ablation referrals & coordination
On-site & in-network

On-site cardiac diagnostics

Most cardiac testing happens right here in our Cambridge office, performed by our own registered sonographer and cardiovascular technician. In most cases your results are read by your cardiologist within days.

Echocardiography

Cardiac ultrasound that creates detailed images of your heart's structure and function, performed by our registered sonographer Sofia Russo, RCS.

Stress testing

Exercise and pharmacologic stress testing to see how your heart responds when it works harder — helping evaluate chest pain and exercise tolerance.

Resting EKG

A quick, painless recording of your heart's electrical activity, often performed the same day as your visit when clinically appropriate.

Holter & ambulatory monitoring

Wearable rhythm monitoring over hours or days to capture intermittent symptoms, fitted and reviewed by our CV technician Marcus Webb.

Studies are performed on-site and read by your cardiologist — most results are available within days, with no need to travel across town and back.
